Back from the first bartending class and I can honestly say it was a lot of fun. We have two teachers one for drinks and basically hands on stuff the other for "theory" basically learning tricks of the trade and all that jazz. Its uber cool learning all this stuff.Our first instructor Rob is actually cute haha he has to dress up as a fire fighter for his bartending job in a themed restaurant and 90 year old women grab his ass. How hilarious is that?
Our second instructor is named Dianna and has awesome stories bout her 19 years working as a bartender soooo many back door random stuff that we gotta deal with so we don't get fired/sued haha.
The drink are a pain to remember such weird weird names. Like some make sense like "purple haze" or "green widow" cuz they are that color. Or even like "god father" "god mother" and "god child" cuz its additions and alterations. Some stuff though is just NARSTY! Crazy arse american drinks mostly. For instance there's a drink called a Greyhound simple simple drink its just vodka and grapefruit juice. Then what american's like do cuz they are weird is rim the glass with salt. WTF its called a salty dog and possibly one of the grossest drinks I've heard of. Such a simple disgusting concept.
But yeah, we learned 3 groups of drinks already "the screws" which major component is vodka although Fuzzy Navel and Sex on the Beach is in that group and they have no vodka just peach schnapps lol. We also learned "the Russians" and thats like all the drinks with coffee liquors. Some funky sounding drinks in there like cocaine which is vodka + coffee liquor + milk + coke. So weird but apparently good. Lastly we learned "the gods" which have the three mentioned above and another drink called Rusty Nails (aka te god of all cocktails lol). The only tie in with these I can tell is that they're on the rocks and in a rock glass incidently. *shrugs* whatev.
Coolest thing when we do shooters that week we actually get to mix with real liquor and try stuff out haha. Thats gonna end so terribly. What with the Jagerbomb (jagermeister + redbull) and Liquid Cocaine (jagermeister + goldschlager).
